We've got tons of TV show topics here & movies, but what is everyone's favorite comercials?

I can't think of any speciffic comercial at the moment, but to generalize, the older McDonald's comercials are really awesome!
Also, I confess to not remembering which Pizza place runs the ads, but the ones where the guy always used to say "Pizza Pizza!" at the end.

Yeah, the Free Credit Report ones are great! So's the Geicko ones with Peter Frampton using his voice changer. They used to have these really funny Carl's Junior commercials advertizing their breakfast stuff. Those were great. I love ones that have Jingles in them. Those are always nice to belt out randomly.

I agree with Michelle, some of my favorite commercials are the older McDonald's ones. The one that stands out for me was from the 80's. It was this little girl in a piano recital. She was nervous, and her parents promised her McDonald's afterward. So she's playing the piano, and singing about all the things she's going to order to the tune of her music. I guess I liked it because I played piano at that age too, and liked McDonald's, so I could have seen myself doing something like that. LOL.

Awww. That's cute!
Actually don't think I've seen that one oddly enough! Lol.

When I was a child, there was a great commercial promoting acceptance in society of people with disabilities. Some of the parts I remember were a deaf class where the instructor was signing, a building that was totally wheelchair accessible, and the last part was a library where all the books were in braille. The non-disabled person was slowly freekingout in each scene. In the last scene, he runs from the library screaming about how he can't read any of the books. One of the people reading the braille books says "Don't they have special schools for people like that?"

Hahahaha. That would have been funny. Wish I'd seen it. Reminds me of an article I read called, "What To Do When You Meet a Sighted Person." You know, it was a parody of all the things written about how to act when a sighted person meets someone who is blind. This isn't the board for that, but if I find that again, I'll post it on another board.

Actually, I have that article. Back in the 1960's, Someone wrote a brochure called "What to Do when you Meet a Blind Person". This is actually the satirical response to that. As I haven't had any coffee, I can't think rationally enough to figure out where that would go. Maybe the Joke Board?

Lol. That's awesome! I've never seen that, wonder if anyone has the title. I could look it up on youtube.

lou, what to do when you meet a blind person was also made in to a 20 minute film. We watched it in my public high school which totally embarrassed me. The most unforgettable scene was This supposedly upper class dorky salesman type guy eating escargot, which are snails in case you can't figure it out from my fractured spelling. At the time, I was totally grossed out and trying not to hurl in the class room which would have compounded the misery of my situation immeasurably!!!!

Right now, my favorite commercials are are "if it ain't hell they ain't happy" for deadliest catch, any geico commercial but especially the one with the song "i've got a feeling someone's watching me." That was a big fave of mine in the late 80s i guess.

Although I despise the concept, I love the red bull commercials. Also the pirate one for the free credit report cracks me up. My daughter used to date a total loser who was and still is a performing buccaneer. too bad they don't show it any more because I have to look harder to bring humor in to my life.

Last night I saw one for something I can't imagine anyone in their right mind eating. It's not a favorite but a totally mystifying concept. Apparently dominos sells spaghetti and meat sauce in a bread bowl? Can someone say vomitrocious? Why not Just get an iv drip, inject the fat and carbs right in to our hearts and get it over with?

I saw the film before also. I wanted to be sick.

Lol. I love speghetti & meatballs! But not in a bread bowl. I have a thing about bread. If it has anything on it not sandwich related, or if it's just plain with nothing on it, I can't eat it. It makes me throw up. I can eat PB&J sandwiches not toasted, as well as salami or ground balogna, like I said, anything sandwich related. I can eat it toasted or untoasted with tuna or (must be toasted) with egg & mayo. But otherwise, it's very bad especially if dinner guests are around. Not sure why, maybe it's because of my cleft palate. Bread used to get stuck in the hole (fistula) up there, & when I finally got it out (have to use my tongue to get it out), I would gag. So maybe that's it.
Anyway, now that I've turned a favorite comercials topic into something not nearly as amusing, I'm done! Lol.

hiya everyone, i can't stand bread that is not toasted ( or other wise not cooked). it's just disgusting.

i also hate dry bread, i just don't get the concept of why anyone would like it.

i love bread with marmite on, mmmm, and like michelle weird things on bread... i'm just not interested!. oh, and it's got to be white, i hate brown bread!

Post 19 by turricane (happiness and change are choices ) on Thursday, 14-May-2009 15:00:19

speaking of bread, I loved the old thomas' english muffin commercials. you know the thomas' promises and all those little nooks and crannies? I also love the ones for pampers cruisers that have the little baby crawling everywhere and the ones for huggies "i'm a big kid now."

Post 20 by motifated (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 14-May-2009 16:39:55

I like the Toys R Us commercials where someone says "Yeah, we got that!" I was in Miami, and heard the commercial in spanish. Cracked me up.

I just saw one I loved on the internet. I bet it is on tv though. It was for master card. It had this lady buying food and said eating together as a family priceless. I loved it.

Yes, I loooove those cruisers & huggies commercials!

Mastercard can be amusing at times.

I think I saw that one about Master Card, too. I always liked the Free Credit Report ones.

Although I primarily drink micro brews, I do think the "Real Men of Genius" Bud Light commercials they used to play on the heavy metal station.

As for dry white bread, or toast, that's for Elwood Blues of the Blues Brothers ...

Post 26 by ILoveS33 (my ISP would be out of business if it wasn't for this haven I live at) on Thursday, 28-May-2009 14:01:45

They still play the real men of genius on our stations here.

I just saw one that I had a hard time remembering the last time I wrote. It is for beggin strips and has this dog saying among other funny stuff in his growling doggie voice "i can't get 'em I have no thumbs!!!!"
